The Cholla Cactus Garden, an unusually large congregation of these cacti (Opuntia species) in Joshua Tree National Park, California. Most of the chollas in this picture are the Golden cholla, Opuntia echinocarpa. Summer temperatures here can exceed 115 degrees Fahrenheit.
